    telemetry

Post by Andrea Lojelo on Mon Nov 22, 2010 10:05 am

As some of you might know, netKar PRO is using a real digital dash that acquires telemetry data.

For this reason you can use AIM Race Studio 2, the same telemetry software used in real life!

The steps to follow are few and extremely easy:
    1) do few laps in your circuit (at least one complete lap after the installation lap)
    2) in the race studio analysis (the AIM telemetry software) select from the menu file>Import netkar file and select your {my documents}\netkar pro\aim\telemetry_dump.nkt
    3) double click on the new telemetry data just imported

You can download the AIM Race Studio2 telemetry software for free from the producer website

In the nkpro manual ({nkpro folder}\manual\netKar PRO Manual.pdf) you will find a very nice guide about how to use telemetry in nkPRO.

    About telemetry, one question.
Is possible that there's not type temps showed ?

no. as Kunos said some time ago, probes to log in the telemetry tyre temperatures are quite expensive, therefore are not used in real life for cars simulated in nkpro.
I'm not sure if this is still true for the KS2 too. For sure it was not possible to get those values for all the other cars.
The only way, is, just like in real life, to read temperature values in the setup once you go back to the box. Not really handy the most of the time, but this is the reason.

No, in KS2 there're not tyre temps in AIM, i've allready check.
In real life tyre temps during a lap are not "readable", of course.
But all the engineer has the tyre temp curvers of any kind of tyres ... Wink so when the car return to box engineer can check the temp and decide what change in setup looking the type temp curves.

    For example, from LiveforSpeed:

Do u understand what i mean ? Very Happy

The thing for me is that it seems to work fine until the moment i press import. After that it crashes and i don't know why. That is why i ask for help if someone had the same problem with me and how to fix it...

As a matter of fact i ddn't Embarassed because i was trying to do what Andrea L wrought to instructions
[2) in the race studio analysis (the AIM telemetry software) select from the menu file>Import netkar file and select your {my documents}\netkar pro\aim\telemetry_dump.nkt]

So when i try to import that file it crashes. But i will try to do some laps with different cars to see if it works

you need to do at least a lap otherwise Race Studio crashes because doesn't get any data.

    In Race Studio 2
    Menu Map>new

Then you can see where you are in the map pressing the track map icon on the top right (Show Track Map) or pressing SHIFT+F1
