Cheap 3d laser scanner

Marius requested for a review about this,so here's the topic allready
I just received a mail from UPS that my package will be underway soon, so the real review will be here pretty soon .
Anyway,i ordered a starter kit here http://www.david-laserscanner.com/ that includes everything you need to start scanning objects.
My intentions are to scan scale models of cars,or maybe even real ones (once i have a decent budget to spend) and planes with it,and make the scanned models game ready.
So, when the thing arrives i will report back here

I have received the kit yesterday,and after setting it up and tinkering for the 2nd night now,i have finally a good result
This here is a raw scan of a small plastic soldier,id say around 6cm tall, and it has been scanned by hand.

I figured i will keep track of the whole process here, so all i did for this scan is to move a line laser over the object in front of a HD cam, and the software registers what the laser hits,converting it into data,showing the silhouette of what you are scanning,once i had a full figure without too many holes, i saved it with that (points upwards) as the result.

Here is my first fully scanned model


What i did was fully scan 4 sides of the camel,then allign the scans till they fit (kinda messed up there,look at the legs ),then let the software fuse them together,the software also removes most of the scan noise,but its always better to remove that before alligning the scans.

now we should ask Kunos to implement this kind of car in nKPRO to do the Paris Dakar.
