Netkar Pro Skinning Tutorial
I have created a step by step tutorial on skinning for Netkar Pro, which teaches novice users how to use Photoshop to create both a skin and UI picture.

The tutorial covers all the basic techniques, including colouring, applying logos, creating vector shapes, and many other techniques to create a skin for the F2000 chassis.

All the techniques in the tutorial can be applied to many other games. The guide is aimed at users who have no Photoshop experience, who would like to learn how to skin cars.

The PDF document contains all the files needed to complete the tutorial, and is available at the links below. This article is being hosted by Auto Sim Sport, as part of their January issue, available later this month.

Thx, very useful guide.. I'll probably use the knowledge -how to color certain parts of the skin (using vectors etc.) in that described and much easier way than I pixeled it - for possible future skins or to improve my current ones (not yet, maybe in a far future). But I think at least with the KS2 and Osella skin I'm still very pleased.
I basically always used a more simple program called 'Paint Shop Pro 5', easy to redraw/turn/size logos cut them out of unwanted surrundings and so on with that program, but not as skilled as Photoshop. When I wanted to recolor parts of the car body, I draw the lines/borders all manually and filled the closed section with the new color, if possible.., if not completely possible to fill all of the section I kind of pixeled 'each' pixel by hand .
Photoshop I just used only at the very end to just convert the saved work of my *.*psd files created with Paint Shop into *.*png format (since it has 0.1% better result/quality than doing the convert with my PaintShop), haven't had enough knowledge how to use Photoshop all the way through, but now with that guide I'll try.

Btw.: If someone can't convert into the *.*dds format, which is needed for the Gallardo GvB skin, with their programs, you could use a small program called
'DDS Converter 2.1'. With that program you can easily convert *.*psd and other formats into the *.*dds format.

It's grouping all the skins posted here, plus, RSR team skins, and updates some of the default skins adding tinted mirrors.

I read the new package contains tinted mirrors (mirrors.dds texture), but by me it's not working.
Or at least I can't see which are the parts affected. I was thinking that it was the "body" of the external mirrors that should have a defined color instead of the original carbon fiber.
I'm interested because I would like to have my external mirrors red (and eventually in different colors depending of the edifferent drivers of my team).

What I'm doing wrong? Totally misunderstood what you mean with "tinted mirrors" or is there a modified 3D model???

I checked and it was our mistake. Just rename the file mirrors.dds in CARBONIO002.DDS
I'll create a new version in few minutes

Had no time to try, but I suspected it was one of that carbonio textures....

In the next days I'll post my update 1.1 texture with red mirrors and updated number just if you'll update the skin pack to 1.3 or if someone prefer to downlaod to align to the version I'm using home.

I already asked, but can't remember where (here or on DI???).

Nevertheless, since I didn't post a screen I post my question again. There is something wrong in how the car looks. It seems there is a black environment light so that shadow are way too dark. Just for example see a comparision on how the 500 looks like in same conditions. Just for your info, same effect also if I use original Lambo texture, so not really related with my texture. Any idea???
