Welcome to the fifth race of the KS2 Series 2011.05: Adelaide

Here is the schedule:
21:00 (GTM+1) Briefing in our Chat
Qualification: 20 minutes. No restriction on the amount of laps
Warmup: 5 min (waiting time before the race session)
Race 1: 35 laps

Full Mode will NOT be used.

To avoid some more problem we will not use Full Mode for this race.
You will be allowed to do whatever you want. In case of damage on your car you can press ESC, fix it and continue, even during the race.

We expect anyone to drive carefully anyway, avoiding problems.

IT WILL BE DRY RACE (to avoid problems we had with CTD in rain conditions)

deffinitely one of the best events ive had (last year). its a shame i wont be participating but good luck to everyone!

Damn, foot injuries seem to be the in thing! Hope it get's better soonest.

1:13 hotlaps seem to be a miracle for me, I did some test and only managed a 1:18.0.. (edit: ok.., gladly it works a bit better now -hotlaps now at 1:16.x-).
Now with the 'new KS2' this track is even more difficult (less downforce). Also I'm blocking the wheels, which results in having understeering towards slow corners so easily (but that's just becuase I have
to adopt the braking with the now used clutch pedal as the brake).

Was really looking forward to this race, but UPS still haven't delivered my replacement wheel (nearly a week after they should of). If it turns up before Thursday I'll race, as I only had a days practice the last time we raced here with the KS2 (& I scored my one & only league win ). I have a feeling it won't though, if so I'll be busy flinging my fecal matter at the local depot

Fine race for most of the participants. I managed to stay clean in the race (walls / oversteering are are always near / easy to happen on this track).
Beside the fact that I lost one position to Dawson as Maarten overlapped me -I let Dawson pass too as he was close to Maarten at that moment, thinking there were two cars to let pass/overlap, which was a wrong assumption..-, I'm happy with my race.

I could have managed a slightly faster qualy lap -throw away some good first sectors at the end of some laps-, but the 1:15.222 was good either.

Well I managed a good qualifying grabbing pole and had decent enough start to the race pulling out a small gap in the first few laps, but then my right foot started to cramp up and remained semi cramped for the rest of the race ended up crashing made an early pitstop but could not race properly. Crashed again later on and couldnt be bothered to continue in pain lol

Why did all of you drove slightly to the right side on the start-/finish line (I guess to have the right line for a following lap) ?
Staying left could have saved 1-2 tenth or whatever on this last meters.

it's force of habit to take the line to start the next lap

Lol that is one awesome video! I pretty much lost the lap in the last turn :-D Braked too late, and understeered around the outside :-D

Btw Fulvio, in the fast right turn it was allowed to be over the line, and in the hairpin i didn't gain time, as i had to lift to get off the kerb. But anyway, REALLY cool movie! The end is epic!

thanks man, thought it would be cool to compare the Qul lap. it was pretty even until the last few turns. I might do this for the next few races also, if the top 3 in qul can send me the edit after the race. These were my first goes at doing this with 3 videos.
